Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed III is a 2012 action-adventure video game released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Microsoft Windows. It is the fifth significant entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and the direct continuation of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations from 2011. For the Wii U, the game was made available globally in November 2012. The story revolves around a long-running conflict between the Assassins, who fight to protect peace and free will, and the Templars, who want control through peace. It is set in a fictional history of actual events. Critics gave the game excellent reviews, praising it for its ambition, gameplay, story, and setting but criticizing its unevenly developed gaming mechanics, mission design, and pacing.
