Axiom Verge is a metroidvania video game created by Thomas Happ, an American independent developer. Metroidvania is a video game genre that focuses on guided non-linearity and utility-gated exploration and progression. Except for the Wii U, the game is also available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. In this side-scrolling action-adventure game, the player takes control of Trace, a scientist who awakens in an antiquated and technologically advanced world following a catastrophic accident. The Multiverse Edition comes with a physical copy of the game, a deluxe booklet with developer comments and art, a double-sided poster, and a Blu-ray-quality making-of documentary. Released in 2019 it is one of the latest games co come out for the Wii U system.
