Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a platform game for the Wii U console developed by Retro Studios in conjunction with Monster Games and published by Nintendo. Tropical Freeze, the fifth installment in the Donkey Kong Country series, is a direct sequel to the 2010 Wii title Donkey Kong Country Returns. After being frozen over by the evil Snowmads—a troop of invaders from the northern seas—Donkey Kong and his family must travel across five islands to save their home, Donkey Kong Island. The game garnered largely favorable reviews, just like its predecessor. While the level design, gameplay, and soundtrack got praise, there were more conflicting reactions to the game’s high difficulty.
