American game show Jeopardy! was developed by Merv Griffin. The show is a quiz competition in which the conventional question-and-answer format of many quiz shows is reversed. Contestants are given general knowledge clues in the form of answers rather than questions, and they must choose the person, place, thing, or idea that the clue depicts while wording each response as a question. There is also a game called Jeopardy! that is based on this game show and available on the Wii U console.
