Nintendo Land is a party video game developed and published by Nintendo as a Wii U home video game console launch title. It includes twelve minigames, each based on an actual Nintendo game franchise such as Mario or The Legend of Zelda, depicted as attractions in the namesake fictional amusement park, as well as an Attraction Tour train built as a tournament that incorporates all minigames. The minigames are intended to introduce new players to the Wii U and its Wii U GamePad controller, incorporating several of the device’s features such as touchscreen controls and motion-sensing capabilities. Nintendo Land is the fifth-highest selling Wii U game, garnering favorable reviews from critics and selling 5.20 million copies as of March 2020.
