Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water is a survival horror video game created by Koei Tecmo. It is the fifth main game in the Fatal Frame series and was first released by Nintendo for the Wii U. Like the other games in the series, players must navigate aggressive ghosts by capturing pictures with the Camera Obscura, which is directly controlled by the Wii U Gamepad. There is also a post-endgame tale with the Dead or Alive series heroine Ayane that uses different gameplay elements. With a Metacritic score of 67, Maiden of Black Water garnered mixed reviews from reviewers all around the world.
