Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure is the first video game in the Skylanders series. It is a 3D action-adventure platform game played with toy figures who connect with it via a “Portal of Power” that reads their NFC tag. It was made available on Wii U, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, Microsoft Windows, and OS X. By putting their figurines on the Portal of Power, players assume the role of a Portal Master who can command over 30 different Skylanders, including the purple dragon Spyro. The “Starter Pack” has three characters to begin with: Spyro, Trigger Happy, and Gill Grunt. Reviews for Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure were “mostly positive,” claims review aggregator Metacritic.
