Rain Games created and published Teslagrad, a side-scrolling puzzle-platform game. This is a 2.5D puzzle-platformer with action aspects in which magnetism and other electromagnetic powers are used to progress through the game and therefore learn the secrets hidden in the long-abandoned Tesla Tower. The game has minimal fighting elements, as well as electric puzzle sections and precise platforming. Teslagrad is a non-linear universe with over a hundred hand-drawn environments set in a steampunk-inspired pastiche of old Europe. The player takes control of a boy who finds himself caught up in a long-forgotten conspiracy involving the tyrant king who has governed the country with an iron hand. Teslagrad garnered mostly positive feedback. The Wii U version received a Metacritic score of 79/100.
