The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a Nintendo action-adventure game for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch systems. The game is part of The Legend of Zelda series and takes place at the conclusion of its history. The player assumes control of an amnesic Link who awakens from a 100-year sleep in an effort to reclaim his memories and stop Calamity Ganon from destroying Hyrule. Players can freely explore the open environment and receive little instruction, just like in the 1986 original The Legend of Zelda game. Tasks involve gathering various equipment and materials to help with goals like puzzle-solving or side quests. The primary plot quest can be finished in a nonlinear manner, and the world is unstructured and meant to inspire exploration and experimentation.
